Chocolate Cake in a Mug

I've recently come across a recipe that is incredibly addictive and I know you'll wish I had never told you. It tasty, easy and better yet, virtually instant!

Ingredients you will need: 4 tablespoons of self raising flour, 4 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tablespoons of cocoa, 1 egg, 3 tablespoons of milk, 3 tablespoons of butter, 3 tablespoons of chocolate chips (optional) and a large mug.

In a large mug add all the dry ingredients (including the chocolate chips) and mix well.

Add the egg and milk. Stir well and then mix in the butter (melted and slightly cooled).

Make sure everything is combined thoroughly.

Place mug in the microwave and cook for three minutes. Don't be alarmed when the cake starts to rise over the top, this is normal : )

Allow to cool slightly and then add your favourite toppings e.g. whipped cream or more chocolate.

So there we have it, instant chocolate cake is less than 5 minutes, and don't forget the convenience of it already being in a portable mug. Give it a go and let me know how it turns out!

  5. yum! I follow a very similar recipe for a self-saucing chocolate pudding!!!! it's so good but so sinful since it's so easy and quick - I end up making it more times than I should!

  10. That's so funny, I have a similar recipe for a Nutella cake in a mug (I blogged about it here: http://lordknowsilovetodance.blogspot.com/2011/06/is-it-still-baking-if-you-use-your.html)! Yours looks much smaller than mine turned out. It took me three days to eat it all!

Try it with Nutella, it's delish.
